Tips For Storing Baby Clothes
As baby outgrows his clothes {which happens so fast!}, its necessary to store them away until you need them again. You want to store them safely so that theyre protected, but you also need to be able to find them again when you need them. Here are some tips for storing baby clothes for the next baby.
Tips For Storing Baby Clothes
Baby clothes arent cheap, and babies grow so fast that many of their clothes still look like new when baby cant wear them anymore. So when baby outgrows his clothes, its definitely worth storing them away for later! If you dont use them, you probably know someone who will. So lets talk about how to store them safely and effectively.
Use Plastic Storage Bins
You never can tell if your storage spot might see some unintended moisture, so plastic storage bins are always a good idea. Theyre heavy enough to stack on top of each other, but light enough to easily carry and transport. Best of all, they protect all those baby clothes from rodents, moths, and other damage.
We recommend clear plastic bins if you can find them, because they allow to you to see better whats inside. Amazon has clear plastic storage bins in a variety of sizes.
Roll Or Fold Outfits Together
An easy trick to help you keep track of coordinating outfits is to roll or fold them together into one neat package. If an outfit comes with a jacket, place the other pieces inside the jacket and zip it up to secure the entire outfit together. For two or three-piece outfits, fold pants inside shirts and tuck it all together.
Marie Kondo It
If you follow organizing guru Marie Kondo, you know she is a huge proponent of stacking things upright instead of flat. This way, you can see all the outfits in that drawer or box at a glance instead of having to remove them to see whats there.
Additional Tips for Storing Baby Clothes
Be sure to label all your storage bins with the appropriate information. For example, designate one bin for size 0-3 month clothes, another for 6-9 month clothes, and another for 12 month clothes. This is really helpful when you need to use those clothes again.
