Save $49 when you bundle an Xbox Series X with the Elite Series 2 controller
SAVE $49: You can bundle an Xbox Series X with an Xbox Elite Series 2 wireless controller for $629.99 at Dell as of Sept. 2 (a $678.99 combined value).
Sony and Microsoft's next-gen consoles are living two different lives as they approach their second birthdays. While the PlayStation 5 just saw a price hike in most major markets aside from the U.S., compounding its availability issues, the Xbox Series machines have only gotten easier to find in stock and on sale recently.
In fact, here's an especially great Xbox Series X deal that's live as of Sept. 2: Dell will let you bundle the console with an Xbox Elite Series 2 wireless controller for just $629.99 as part of its Labor Day event. That's $49 less than what you'd pay if you bought them separately for $499 and $179.99, respectively. (Dell's math is wrong on the bundle's product page — ignore that "save $30" tidbit.)
The bundle is labeled as a "limited-quality deal," so there's a good chance it'll sell out fast. Don't dawdle if you want it.
To refresh your memory, the Series X is a beast of a console with DirectX ray tracing, a custom SSD for blazing-fast load times, and a 12-teraflop GPU that gives it double the power of 2017's Xbox One X. It also brings support for gameplay of up to 120fps, which basically translates to buttery-smooth action with more lifelike animations — super important for first-person shooters, action RPGs, and other fast-paced genres.
The Series X comes with its own Xbox Wireless Controller, but frankly it'll be collecting dust if you've got the Elite Series 2 on hand. The premium wireless gamepad can be fully customized from top to bottom with multilple profiles, interchangeable thumbsticks, swappable paddle shapes, and different resistance and trigger lock settings. Plus, marathon gaming sessions are a go thanks to its wrap-around rubberized grips and 40-hour battery life.
