Meghan Markle Mom-Shamed for How She Holds Baby Archie

Even though Meghan Markle only became a mother two months ago, the former actress and current Duchess is already being criticized for her parenting techniques. This week, people are calling Markle out for the way she held baby Archie on a recent outing.
Not soon after celebrating her son’s christening, Markle appeared at the King Power Charity Polo math to support her husband, Prince Harry. After photos of the event surfaced, trolls were quick to shame Markle for the position in which she’s seen cradling Archie. “Meghan doesn’t look comfortable holding her baby, it doesn’t look like a natural pose!” one Twitter user wrote. “Does she know how to hold her two-month-old baby?”
She can't have any maternal instincts at all. Archie's neck and whole body not supported by her at all. No sun hat to protect him.

Another went so far as to suggest that Markle doesn’t have “any maternal instincts at all”, while claiming that Archie’s neck and body don’t look supported by his mother.
However, plenty of people were coming to the Duchess’ defense. “I could be totally wrong, but I see a mother being very protective and almost wrapping him up with as much of her arm as she can,” one Twitter user wrote. Lucy Shrimpton, The Sleep Nanny and parenting expert at the U.K.’s The Baby Show also told Yahoo Style U.K. that there’s nothing unsafe about the way Markle is holding Archie.
I’ve seen a LOT of comments today about Meghan not knowing how to hold her baby.
That’s not what I see here. I could be totally wrong, but I see a mother being very protective and almost wrapping him up with as much of her arm as she can. I remember what it feels like … (1/2)

“She is supporting the majority of Archie’s body with her right arm while he rests his head on her chest,” Shrimpton said. “Babies are comforted by this position and hearing mom’s heartbeat too. So long as the face is to one side, which Archie’s is, this is a wonderfully soothing way to hold to a baby.”
