This set of baseball-themed addition facts puzzles features baseballs filled with feelings. The puzzles require children to find the sum of a number fact. After finding the puzzle pieces with the correct sum, children will have to choose a sum piece that completes the equation sum.

Guidance may need to be given to students as they search for the pieces that will complete each side of a puzzle. It may help to identify if a piece has rounded, curved, or jagged edges.

Tips for Exploring the Baseball Addition Fact Puzzles

  • The puzzles have four different connection styles. If you think having more than one of the same style of connection out at a time, you may want to only have one of each style out at a time. That will help the students that would find it confusing.
  • You can use print the puzzles out on heavy cardstock or printer paper. Before using them, you may want to laminate them so they will last longer.
  • After solving each puzzle, children could count how many of each feeling are pictured on the baseball side of the card.
